Rockin' Granola

Children will need help from an adult! Don't forget to drink water while you hike.

Yield: 11servings

Serving Size: 1/3 cup

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Bake Time: 20 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups uncooked oatmeal
  • 1 cup wheat germ (toasted or untoasted)
  • 1 cup coconut
  • 2 Tbsp cinnamon
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup powdered milk
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/3 cup canola oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Equipment:

  • 9 x 13 pan
  • Large mixing bowl
  • Measuring cups
  • Measuring spoons
  • Spoon
  • Zip-top bags

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 300° F.
  2. Mix oatmeal, wheat germ, coconut, cinnamon, brown sugar, and powdered milk in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Add honey, oil, and vanilla.
  4. Mix well, coating all dry ingredients.
  5. Spread mixture into the pan.
  6. Bake for 20 minutes, but check every 5 minutes and stir.

To Serve:

  • Pack individual serving sizes in zip-top bags.

Fun Fact: Don’t want to eat boring, plain oatmeal? Top it with fruit, yogurt, or even a few chocolate chips! Get creative!
