baking soda
- 1/8 tsp
salt
- 3 ounces
dried cherries
- 2/3 cup
low-fat buttermilk
- 1/2 tsp
vanilla extract

Directions:
- Alter the position
of your oven racks, dividing the oven into thirds.
- Preheat oven to 350°
F.
- In first small bowl,
combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Stir
in dried cherries with mixing spoon.
- In second small bowl,
mix buttermilk and vanilla together.
- Add buttermilk mixture
to flour mixture and stir until just blended.
- Spread batter into
baking pan.
- Sprinkle batter with
1 Tbsp of reserved sugar.
- Bake in upper third
of oven for 25 – 30 minutes.
- Remove bars from pan
and cool completely.
- Cut into 16 equal
bars.
To
Serve:
- Place individual
serving sizes into a zip-top bag.
