Granola Bars

Children will need help from an adult! Don't forget to drink water while you hike.

Yield: 16 bars

Serving Size: 1 bar

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Bake Time: 20 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups granola
  • 2 eggs, beaten

Equipment:

  • Mixing bowl
  • Spoon
  • Measuring cups
  • Measuring spoons
  • 8 x 8 baking pan, lightly oiled
  • Knife
  • Oven
  • Zip-top bags

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 300°F.
  2. Combine granola and eggs in bowl and mix.
  3. Spread mixture in oiled baking pan.
  4. Press mixture firmly into pan until flat.
  5. Using knife, cut mixture into 16 equal bars (1-1/2 x 2-inch rectangles) before baking.
  6. Bake granola in oven for 20 minutes.
  7. Remove from oven and let cool.
  8. Re-cut granola.

To Serve:

  • Place each bar into a zip-top bag.

Fun Fact: The original name for Granola used to be “Granula.”
